Are you ready for Payroll Year End?  Do you know what you need to do?

This Session is designed for payroll practitioners, bookkeepers, accountants or managers preparing year-end for the first time or who need a refresher on the year-end process.  The session will follow through a checklist process that can be used year over year.

This will provide you with the steps that are required to get you through the Year End:

 Preparing for Year End

·         Balancing and reconciling the payroll information,

·         Validation of employee data such as SIN’s and taxable benefits,

·         Conducting self-PIER audit of CPP/QPP, EI and QPIP deductions,

·         Preparing for T4’s/RL1’s for filing,

·         Filing annual returns and

·         Preparing for the new year

Speaker: Stephanie Mongrain, BComm, CPM, CHRP; Ceridian Canada Ltd.

Stephanie Mongrain is a payroll and human resources professional specializing in payroll implementations. She entered the payroll field by happenstance in 1999 when she secured a position at Ceridian Human Capital Management, a global human capital management company, and has held various positions within the organization in the 21 years since joining the team. Her breadth of experience ranges across all industries, provinces/territories and organizational structures, with a specific focus on companies with up to 2,000 employees.  Stephanie is currently the Manager of one of Ceridian’s implementation teams, a rewarding position that provides constant challenges and change.

In 2008, Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Calgary, the first two years of which were completed at Mount Royal University. Along the way, she also obtained the Canadian Payroll Association’s (CPA) Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation and the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation from CPHR Alberta.  She also volunteers with the CPA as a Subject Matter Expert.

As an Educator for the Canadian Payroll Association, Stephanie has been instructing courses in the Payroll Compliance Practitioner and Certified Payroll Manager Programs in the Faculty of Continuing Education and Extension at Mount Royal University since 2008 and supporting online learning with the CPA for Ceridian employees since 2016.

Attending this meeting qualifies for one Professional Development Credit

Cost of the meeting is free; however, you are responsible for your own meal and beverage

Dining out with food allergies can be a challenge, but it can be done safely. The best way to stay safe is by being informed and communicating your needs.

Before you go: ‘Be Informed and Inform’. We recommend contacting the restaurant ahead of time and talking to the restaurant manager or Kitchen manager.

At the Restaurant: ‘Communicate’. Talk to the server and your RNC upon arriving and advise them of your food allergies.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success. They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend three meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
