10 Tips for Perfect Posture While Sitting at a Desk All Day - Preventing Back Pain & Headaches

Presented By: Dr. Sarah Stock, DC, BKin(Hons.)

Many news outlets have recently called sitting the new silent killer. Due to the sedentary nature of most workplaces today, low back pain has now become the leading cause of disability and missed time from work worldwide. This presentation will outline 10 takeaway tips for workers to take and apply to their daily routines. We will discuss the impact that repetitive postures and movements have on the body, what to do if you're already suffering from certain chronic repetitive strain injuries, and how to prevent future injuries.

Presenter's Bio:

Dr. Sarah Stock is a Chiropractor and the owner of Laserlight Health Centre, located in Richmond Hill. She holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Certificate, and an honours degree in Kinesiology.

Sarah spent her childhood and adolescence competing as a rhythmic gymnast on Canada's National Team. She had the privilege of representing Canada at the 2003 Pan American Games and Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships.

Today, Sarah has a passion for educating the public as well as athletes on how to avoid common injuries, and help people live to their fullest potential.

Regional Developer: Kimme Lafayette, CPB

Cost is free - However, the venue does require minimum purchase per person of at least 1 alcoholic beverage or an appetizer.

Dining out with food allergies can be a challenge, but it can be done safely. The best way to stay safe is by being informed and communicating your needs.

Before you go: ‘Be Informed and Inform’. We recommend contacting the restaurant ahead of time and talking to the restaurant manager or Kitchen manager.

At the Restaurant: ‘Communicate’.  Talk to the server upon arriving and also to the IPBC regional network chair and explain your food allergies.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success.

They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Attending this meeting qualifies for one Professional Development Credit

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend two meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
